Owens Intermediate Outreach Consultant

Mrs. Walker, our Comprehensive Student Support Coordinator, also known as our Outreach Consultant, is responsible for:

• Keeping our attendance at 95% and above with encouragement and incentives.  We also have an annual perfect attendance assembly in May.
• Helping our students with uniforms by supplying uniforms to students in need and referring families to Operation School Bell and other organizations for assistance.
• Referring parents to our District Parent University classes for assistance with parenting skills, their students education, and a multitude of other subjects.
• Making home visits to aid our students and their families with various issues.
• Conducting SST (Student Success Team) meetings to find strategies and/or actions to help our students be successful while attending Owens Intermediate as well as in the future.
• Assisting teachers and staff as requested.
• Running Knitting Club on Tuesday and Thursday during lunch recess and Math Masters on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday during lunch recess.
• Helping with parent involvement, PTA, The Harvest Carnival, Mother/Daughter Tea, Father/Son BBQ and the annual Family Night held in the Spring.
• Attending School Site Council Meetings and reporting on various activities and attendance.
• Helping with community involvement, Neighborhood Watch, attending various community meetings to network support for our school.
• Assisting with Safe Schools through our Peace Patrol Program, G.R.E.A.T. and various safety assemblies.
