A Message From Our Principal
Welcome to Bessie Owens Intermediate Elementary School. I look forward to working with parents, teachers, students, and staff to ensure that each child receives the support needed to be academically successful and to develop a desire for life-long learning. Although this is my first year at Owens Intermediate, I was fortunate to spend a few months last year as the interim principal and am excited to be a permanent part of this dynamic school.
Owens Intermediate has a rich history of providing strong academic content along with enrichment activities that enhance the educational process. This has been possible because of the commitment of the teachers, staff, and parents. Teachers are highly qualified, dedicated to continual improvement, and supportive of students. They see themselves as life-long learners and strive to find the best way to assist each student. The support staff members at Owens Intermediate are genuinely concerned about the welfare of each student and help to create an atmosphere where learning is paramount. The parents at Owens Intermediate are involved in their children’s education and assist the educational process by providing the home environment and support needed to ensure educational excellence. Of course, a school is not a school without the students. The students at Owens Intermediate are filled with the wonder of learning. Each day they work their hardest and do their best to achieve. I am thankful to have the opportunity to witness their success.
